February 2nd, 2010body contouring, Breast Augmentation, breast implants, cohesive gel, cosmetic surgeon, plastic surgerySanta Monica Cohesive Implant – Silicone gel already enjoys a measure of popularity as a breast implant filler. Although silicone gel implants cannot be
inflated after insertion and so may require a larger incision than a comparable augmentation with saline breast implants, its consistency gives it a more natural feel than saline. The concerns of the early ’90s, centering around potential health risks supposed to be linked to leaking silicone have effectively been allayed, and the FDA bestowed their approval upon silicone implants in 2006. Now, the next generation of silicone gel implants are in clinical trials.Sometimes referred to as “Gummy Bear” implants, the new cohesive gel breast implants are already widely popular in Europe. They are more form stable than either saline implants or conventional silicone implants. As such, they lend themselves well to a more tapered shape, which better resembles a natural breast contour. The nature of the silicone also renders them relatively leak-free.
These natural-feeling and -looking results are only available in the United States through certain surgeons participating in the clinical trials. Santa Monica plastic surgeon Dr. Steven Teitelbaum is “the only surgeon in the state of California who was asked to participate in the clinical trials of all three cohesive implant manufacturers.”

January 29th, 2010abdominoplasty, body contouring, cosmetic surgeon, plastic surgery, tummy tuckTummy Tuck in Carson City – If you’ve been tossing around the
notion of seeking out a plastic surgeon, you’ve probably already got a “problem area” or two in mind that you want addressed. Perhaps you have finally lost those irritating “extra” pounds and just can’t bring yourself to celebrate because, instead of shrinking with the rest of you, the skin around your middle felt it would be more fun to sag down like a deflated balloon. As we age, our skin loses its elasticity and so is less willing to shrink down with the rest of the body once it’s been stretched. A tummy tuck procedure is one option for dealing with this. By excising loose, over-hanging skin and tightening the muscles of the abdominal wall, a plastic surgeon can put the finishing touches on your hard work. A lot depends on your current physiology and future plans. Details like this are what makes the consultation with your surgeon so critical.
Dr. Kent Gabriel, a board certified plastic surgeon who also offers cosmetic surgery in Reno, describes his consultations as “lengthy and informative.” By taking “as much time as a patient needs to discuss their situation,” Dr. Gabriel hopes that whether or not a patient goes forward with their surgery with him, they will leave the consult with greater understanding.

January 23rd, 2010california, los angeles, Plastic surgeon, plastic surgery, scar repair, Scar Revision, skin careUnfortunately for some, the body’s healing may result in the formation of scars that are unsightly or that cause unwanted symptoms such as pain or tightness. The plastic surgery or scar revision involves the removal of the offending scar and its replacement with an
improved surrounding soft skin or tissue. This is capable of allowing for the scar to become minimized and camouflaged in a much more functional and aesthetic way. -
January 23rd, 2010california, los angeles, Plastic surgeon, plastic surgery, scar repair, Scar Revision, skin careThe natural result of the body’s attempt to heal an open wound or tear in the surface of the skin or body tissues is a scar. Every person forms scars, and scars are always resulting from surgical incisions or trauma which goes all the way to the deeper layers of skin and sometimes the structures. A scar will in fact result from any type of cosmetic surgery procedure. There is no such thing as a cosmetic surgery procedure that does not leave a scar, regardless of what is advertised or hyped.

January 19th, 2010body contouring, Breast Augmentation, breast implants, cosmetic surgeon, plastic surgeryBreast Implants in Canton MI – Whenever I recall the silicone gel-filled breast implant
issues of the early nineties, it calls to mind a cartoon that showed a woman with a deflated chest and bell-shaped legs glaring at a scientist, implying that her implants had not only leaked but that the gel had found its way down through her body to slosh around her ankles. In truth, silicone gel is more likely to remain in the shell or the implant pocket. In fact it may be difficult even to detect a leak in a silicone implant without an ultrasound or MRI scan. There’s been a lot learned over the almost twenty years since the FDA withdrew its approval of silicone breast implants (FDA approval was restored in 2006; silicone breast implants are currently available for augmentation in women who are at least 22 years old). Much of the most valuable information about breast implants is only applicable on a personal basis, based on the physiology of the individual patient. This makes your doctor consultation vitally important. Dr. Bazzi is a board certified Michigan plastic surgeon who can provide you the personalized information you need to make an educated choice.

January 14th, 2010body contouring, houston, lipoplasty, liposuction, Plastic surgeon, plastic surgery, texasBefore you receive a liposuction procedure, your plastic surgeon will carefully outline the areas of bulging fat that are to be suctioned. Your surgeon will then draw a detailed line of your contour in order to further define the shape and contour characteristics of the fat deposits. Cosmetic surgeons will use the “tumescent technique” in which there will be a large amount of fluid initially placed to swell the area. This technique will allow for fat to be removed in a very smooth, safe, and symmetrical manner. The fluid is able to help loosen the fat while providing a local anesthesia for operative and immediate post-operative discomfort. It will also be able to provide epinephrine which is capable of decreasing bleeding.

January 13th, 2010cosmetic surgeon, Facial Rejuvenation, plastic surgery, rhinoplasty, skin careSan Diego Plastic Surgery – Surf the web looking for pretty much anything, and you’re bound to find a wealth of information
ranging from unbiased to unabashed, acclaim to accusation. Look up plastic surgery and the opinions will take you to every possible point of a compass. Is it right or wrong to undergo a cosmetic procedure? Perhaps a better question would be, is it right or wrong for you? For example, missing a tooth hardly threatens anyone’s survival, but replacing it can sure make things easier. Jamie Farr did fine with a prominent nose, but not everyone is so successful at “owning” their unusual look. It is also sometimes possible to improve one’s ability to breathe through rhinoplasty (which is valuable to survival). The best choices are informed choices. All of the data must be weighed, for and against, before you can decide if the risk is worth the benefit. You can’t consider information you don’t have, and the most critical details aren’t on the internet. Instead they are about how the science and techniques apply to your unique body. A consultation with a properly qualified, board certified plastic surgeon combines professional expertise with a doctor’s examination to give you what you need. Board certified San Diego plastic surgeon, Dr. Amir Karam, specializes in nose surgery and in surgical and non-surgical rejuvenation of the eyes, neck, and face.

January 11th, 2010facelift, Facial implants, Facial Rejuvenation, Plastic surgeon, plastic surgery, rhytidectomyA face lift procedure will not be able to stop this process, but it is capable of “turning back the hands of time.” A face lift (technically called a rhytidectomy) was created to reduce many of the heavy folds and wrinkles of a person’s neck and face. The procedure will also improve the contour of a person’s necklines and jaw. However, a rhytidectomy will not be able to completely removed every fold, wrinkle, and line. There is a limited amount of improvement around the eyes and with fine lines of the facial skin. A face lift alone will not be able to improve “smoker’s” lines around the mouth, acne scars, or poor complexion. Other options are available to treat these various problems including chemical peels, dermabrasion, and laser treatment.

January 11th, 2010facelift, Facial implants, Facial Rejuvenation, Plastic surgeon, plastic surgery, rhytidectomyA rhytidectomy is able to improve the most visible signs of aging by tightening and sculpting the deeper foundation and structures of the neck and face. As a person ages, the effects of sun exposure, gravity, smoking, heredity, weight fluctuations, and the stresses of daily life begin to show themselves in their face. A face lift procedure can bring back youth to an individual’s face. In youth, a face is smooth and firm due to proper positioning of normal facial fat and good skin elasticity. As a person ages, muscle tone and skin elasticity weaken and facial fat descends which causes prominent skin folds and deep creases between the corner of the mouth and nose. A person’s jowls become more prominent along with loose skin and fat deposits in the neck.
